The 26th Annual Great Lake Allatoona Cleanup takes place on Saturday, September 17, 2011. This is a great time for everyone in the Acworth community to come and help clean up the shoreline of both Lake Acworth and Lake Allatoona. The event begins at 9am and concludes at noon with a cookout at the Riverside Day Use Area on Allatoona Dam Road.
The event will include free food, entertainment, and prizes for all of the participants. If you prefer to stay in the Acworth area, the City of Acworth Parks and Recreation Department, with help from local businesses and organizations, will be hosting their own cookout for the participants at Cauble Park at noon as well.
Interested in volunteering? Please pre-register yourself or your organization at http://www.greatallatoonacleanup.org/index.php. To clean up at a City of Acworth Park, at registration select “City of Acworth” and in the comments section please put “Cauble Park” and the Parks and Recreation Department will contact you with the event day details.
If you or your company would like to sponsor the event, please contact Michelle Patrick or Lisa Barlow at the City of Acworth Parks and Recreation Department at (770) 917.1234, or you can email them at mpatrick@acworth.org or lbarlow@acworth.org.

The Acworth Baseball Association is currently accepting online registrations for the 2011 Fall Baseball Season. We provide a safe, challenging and most of all, fun instructional and competitive baseball experience for boys and girls, ages 4 to 18. Our goal is to instill in the children of this community the ideas of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty and a sense of teamwork so that they may become strong, healthy, well adjusted members of the community.
