This league is open to all children (boys and girls) between the ages of 5 and 14. </p> <p><br /</p> <p><strong>The ages are divided at follows:</strong><br /> 5 & 6 COED<br /> Boys — 7 & 8 Boys, 9 & 10 Boys, 11 &12 Boys and 13&14 Boys<br /> Girls — 7&8 Girls, 9&10 Girls, 11&12 Girls and 13&14 Girls<br /> (All girls division are based on enrollment numbers, we may have to combine some of the divisions).</p> <p><strong>The fee for the league is:</strong></p> <p>5&6 COED <br /> $105 for City of Acworth residents<br /> $125 for non City of Acworth residents</p> <p>All other divisions<br /> $155 for City of Acworth residents<br /> $175 for non City of Acworth residents</p> <p><strong>Register before September, 13 and receive a $10 discount.</strong> All divisions are open until the maximum number of participants per age group has been met. (All registrations received after 5:00 p.m. on October 22 will be charged a $20 late registration fee.</p> <p>The fee for all divisions includes a team jersey and team shorts. Practices will begin the week of November 1. All teams will practice for 1 hour once per week through mid-January. Games are played on Saturdays through mid-January, then one night a week and Saturdays until the end of the season in early February. The first game will be on Saturday, December 4. The season will conclude with the Championship Games on Saturday, February 5.</p> <p>Please call (770) 917-1234 for more information.</p> </article> <article> <h1>Cobblestone Golf Course</h1> <p>Acworth.com — Tue, 02 Feb 2010 01:12:38 +0000</p> <p>The Cobb County Parks and Recreation Department recently announced that the Board of Commissioners has approved funding for major renovations to Cobblestone Golf Course. The work will begin in July and will include renovation of the greens and replacement of the bent grass with Champion Bermuda. This hybrid grass has proven to be a very good putting surface and will be much more tolerant of heat and traffic than the bent grass. </p> <p>During this renovation, they will also bring back to original size all the greens on the course. In order to support this grow-in and continued care, some of the trees will be cut to allow full sunlight on the greens. In addition, the renovations include a plan to have year round “green” greens with the help of a little paint during the dormant period.</p> <p>All bunkers and traps will be completely renovated with new drainage, liners and sand. This will bring back the great look and play of fluffy white sand. The renovation also includes the installation of a new irrigation system to produce the much needed supply of water for the greens grow-in and general course maintenance.</p> <p>The work begins July 1 and is scheduled to take about 9 weeks. The improved course will be fully playable by mid-September, however the course will remain open and playable using temporary greens during the construction and grow-in period. </p> </article> <article> <h1>Tackle Hunger</h1> <p>Acworth.com — Tue, 29 Dec 2009 01:12:36 +0000</p> <p>More than 250 families were given bags of canned goods and a turkey this Thanksgiving season, thanks to the help of the Tackle Hunger program. Students from North Cobb High School, North Cobb Christian School, McCall Primary School and Acworth Intermediate School all held canned food drives to support the efforts.</p> <p>The Acworth Business Association donated money and the First Annual Acworth Turkey Chase 5K Fun Run also provided funds to purchase more than 200 turkeys to be delivered to homes right here in Acworth.</p> <p>A new record for the Tackle Hunger program was set this year as more than 13,000 canned goods were received, most were delivered to the Acworth Housing Authority by volunteers from North Cobb High School and NorthStar Church. Beginning on July 1, 2009, The Appalachian, Chattahoochee, and North Metro Technical Colleges merged to form one institution and became the leading post secondary technical college in Georgia. NMTC is known as the North Metro campus of Chattahoochee Technical College. The new Chattahoochee Tech serves over 10,000 students from eight campuses spread over six North Georgia counties. The other campus names are: Appalachian Campus, Canton Campus, Marietta Campus, Mountain View Campus, Paulding Campus, South Cobb Campus, and Woodstock Campus.</p> </article> </main></body></html>
