The annual Smoke on the Lake Barbecue Festival takes place each year on Mother’s Day weekend at Logan Farm Park. The festival features a Friday night Lord of the Wings competition. Each participating BBQ team prepares their own special flavor of chicken wings and you get to be the judge. The competition is followed by a concert under the stars starting at 8 pm.
On Saturday, BBQ teams from all over the Southeast will compete in professional and amateur divisions to see who will take home the title this year. The Saturday event will feature the People’s Choice Pork competition where you get to be the judge, and taste different pork entries from all of the participating cook teams.
There is also a cornhole tournament that starts at 10 am on Saturday, featuring a 3 game round robin for casual teams and single elimination for competitive teams. Pre-registration is available online and day-of registration is also available at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the tournament.
Two beer tents are on site featuring Acworth’s own Red Top Brewhouse and 1885 Grill, and additional food options are also available from local restaurants including 1885 Grill, Williamson Brothers BBQ, and additional food vendors.
Great weather, great music, great BBQ and cold beer. Smoke on the Lake brings 20+ Amateur Backyard BBQ Teams that work very hard to cook wings on Friday night and pork on Saturday for a hungry crowd.
The event is hosted by the Rotary Club of North Cobb and the City of Acworth. All proceeds will be distributed amongst several local charities, so come out and help make a difference in your community.

The Mustangs band was great! The Lord of the Wings event was pathetic. Not enough people cooking wings, too expensive for only getting one wing to taste at most booths.
The most disappointing thing about this years event, specifically Friday night, there were not enough “pay for” food vendors. One Food vendor and only one dessert vendor to feed several thousand people. Sad! I’ll think twice before I come back next year.
yes had a last minute cancellation and was wondering if you have 2 spaces left for food.i have a 8×18 ft trailor that i sell funnel cakes cotton candy candy apples sno cones drinks.i also have a 10×10 tent that i have roasted corn nachos and cheese and drinks. if you could please send me an email as im looking for a show to do bc of the cancellation.thank you wanda king
