Letters to Santa
Parents and caregivers can save the postage and bring their children’s letters to Santa to the Acworth Community Center beginning November 30, 2020. The Acworth Parks, Recreation, and Community Resource Department Team has the honor of hosting one of Santa’s very own mailboxes at their facility. The City delivers these letters to jolly old Saint Nick personally. Children will then receive a handwritten letter back from Santa. Although Santa’s eyes twinkle, he will not admit he needs reading glasses. Parents please provide some notation to children with creative handwriting. This free program will be available to the public through December 16, 2020.
On Saturday, December 7, 2019 and Saturday, December 14, 2019, the city is celebrating Christmas in Acworth. Santa will be at the Depot on Main Street starting at 1pm for storytime, then pictures from 2pm to 5pm both days. Pictures are free of charge – just make sure to bring your own camera to capture this special moment, as no photographer will be on-site. In addition, there will also be free horse and carriage rides available on both Saturdays departing from Senator Russell Ave. On the north end of Main Street, stroll through Frana Brown Park to see the festival of trees. Local school groups and businesses decorate Christmas trees donated by the Acworth Home Depot. The activities are family friendly and the perfect way to entertain the kiddos while getting some holiday shopping done. Shop the sales and sample treats in the downtown stores.
