The Annual Acworth Turkey Chase 5K Fun Run & 2K Walk takes place during the month of November.  There is no formal course or race time, so you are free to choose where you would like to run or walk your 5k.

Although there will be no race day event, participants are encouraged to run or walk on their own before November 28, 2020 and share a photo in their Acworth Turkey Chase t-shirt with the hashtag #AcworthTurkeyChase2020.

Enjoy an exhilarating 5K run through Historic Downtown Acworth and along the shores of beautiful Lake Acworth. Walk, jog, or run, participants of all ages and abilities are welcome.

All participants must bring a non-perishable food item on race day to receive their race number. The event is sponsored by the City of Acworth Parks and Recreation Department and all non-perishable food items and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Tackle Hunger program.

The 5K Fun Run will begin at 9am and the 2K walk at 9:15am on Main Street in Downtown Acworth. There will be a “Little Pilgrim” Trot for children up to age 5 beginning at 10am on Main Street.

Race Day Schedule

  • 7:30 am – 8:45 a.m. Registration / race packet pick up
  • 9:00 am – 5K Run Start
  • 9:15 am – 2K Walk Start
  • 10:00 am – Little Pilgrim Trot Start (up to age 5)

Race will start & finish on Main Street in Downtown Acworth.

Race day parking available at First Baptist Church Acworth, City Hall and the Acworth Library.

  1. If senior adults would like to participate, do they have to complete the 5k at one time, or can they spread it out over the month of November, as long as they complete the distance by the deadline?
